Bourne
- The town of Bourne consists of the following villages - Bourne,
Bournedale, Buzzards Bay, Cataumet, Gray Gables, Monument Beach, Pocasset,
Sagamore and Sagamore Beach.
- Bourne is the "Gateway to Cape Cod" as it is home to both the Bourne Bridge and the Sagamore
Bridge, the only links for automobile access to the Cape.
- Buzzards Bay is the home of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
- Bourne, originally part of Sandwich, was not established until 1884.
- President Grover Cleveland established the first Cape Cod 'summer White House' in Bourne at the
Gray Gables estate.
