POP e-mail Accounts (Mailboxes)

Instead of using E-mail Forwarding to deliver e-mail to another Internet e-mail box, you have the option of creating your own POP e-mail boxes. Creating separate POP e-mail boxes for different e-mail accounts is a good way to keep e-mail separate between departments or personnel. POP boxes are currently the prominent type of e-mail boxes in use on the Internet and can be accessed with most major e-mail programs such as Eudora, Netscape, Outlook Express, and so on.

You have access to one Master POP Account and multiple additional POPs that appear in your Control Panel within e-mail Settings.

** Important **
If your disk space allocation is near or at capacity, you will not be able to receive POP e-mail. We highly recommend that you do not let your disk space get close to the maximum limit. You can easily monitor your disk space usage within your Control Panel and may lease additional space if needed.

Creating and Configuring POP Accounts

POP accounts can be created only for specific e-mail addresses. For example, e-mail addressed to specifically sales@ could be held in a private POP mailbox accessible with a unique popID and password.

To configure or create a POP e-mail account for an address at , select the e-mail Settings button in your Control Panel. In the POP Accounts section of the e-mail Settings screen, you will find a row for each POP account you are currently allotted in your account. To create a new account, fill out an empty row with the information for the new POP account.

For example, if you want e-mail addressed to webmaster@ to be held in a POP account, enter the username "webmaster" in the column titled "@yourdomain". You must also enter a unique ID and password with which you will access the account:

@yourdomain User ID Password

After you have entered all the information for your POP account, scroll down to the bottom of the POP Accounts section, and click on "Change" to save your changes.

To help you remember your popID, we recommend that you keep your address and popID the same. For example, if your address is lou@yourdomain, have your popID be "lou" as well.

*** Important ***
The popID for your additional POP accounts must NOT the be same as your account userID. You need to assign unique IDs and passwords for access to the additional POPs for privacy.

Additional POP accounts may be purchased
